Senior Staff Profiles

Tia Boatman Patterson, Executive Director since August 2014. Boatman Patterson has been general counsel at the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency since 2009. She was special assistant to California State Assembly Speaker Karen Bass from 2008 to 2009 and to California State Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez from 2005 to 2008, senior associate at Best Best and Krieger LLP from 2003 to 2004 and agency counsel at the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency from 1999 to 2003. Boatman Patterson served as chief consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Housing and Community Development from 1995 to 1999 and was a law clerk at Greve Clifford Wengel and Paras from 1992 to 1995. Boatman Patterson earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Kenneth H. Giebel, Director of Marketing since September 2002.  B.S. and M.B.A., University of Santa Clara.  Previously:  Senior Marketing Manager at the California Lottery (1996-2002); various marketing positions for private sector corporations and advertising agencies.

Timothy Hsu, Director of Financing since July 2012. B.A. Wesleyan University. Previously:  Financing Risk Manager, CalHFA (2005-2012); Vice President at a major Wall Street investment bank (2003-2004); Financing Officer, CalHFA (2002); Senior Consultant at a leading quantitative consultancy (1995-2001).  He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2007, and he earned the Financial Risk Manager designation in 2008.

The position of Chief Deputy Director is currently vacant.  This position must ultimately be filled by appointment by the Governor.
