Realtors/Real Estate Agents
Real estate agents are often the first point of contact for people purchasing a home, and CalHFA recognizes their importance to homebuying. CalHFA has marketing materials to help your clients make an informed choice about their home loans, and is also proud of its quick turnaround times for loan processing when you have a tight deadline for closing escrow. Please look around this section for more information on how becoming familiar with CalHFA loans can help your business, even with non-first-time homebuyers.
Program Summaries
CalHFA understands that most real estate agents will not need all of the extensive details that we offer in our loan program handbooks available to our loan officers and brokers. That's why we've created these simple, printable summary sheets just for you.
Find loan officers approved for CalHFA loans
CalHFA only works with approved, skilled loan officers who are familiar with CalHFA's loan programs and their various requirements, options and benefits. View this list of CalHFA preferred loan officers to locate the name and phone number of a CalHFA-trained loan officer in your area.
Additionally, if you'd like a branch office location, you can search our branch office database. (Please note that all branch offices may or may not have loan officers on site that are trained to process CalHFA loans.)
Federally Designated Targeted Areas
Targeted areas offer a lot of benefits for your homebuyers such as taking advantage of first-time homebuyer programs without actually being a first-time homebuyer, higher income limits and higher sales price limits. Get more details on targeted areas so you can pass along the benefits to your clients.
Homebuyer Education
Because CalHFA firmly believes that homebuyer education is critical to your client's success and their happiness as a homeowner, homebuyer education is required on all first-time homebuyer programs that CalHFA offers. We will accept homebuyer education counseling certificates online, in-person, or by phone from the following providers:
- Freddie
Mac Homebuyer Counseling Counselors/Administrators
Search
- HUD-approved Housing Counselors
- Private Mortgage Insurers approved by Fannie Mae. Check private mortgage insurer's web site for homebuyer counseling availability.
Sales Tools & Marketing Materials
CalHFA produces many collateral pieces to both inform first-time homebuyers and help our lending partners with the CalHFA process. Many of the pieces are in downloadable format for convenient printing. You may also request large quantities from our Marketing division, although we ask that you pay for shipping. Take a look at what we have to offer!
Visit the Sales Tools & Marketing Materials page for details.
CalHFA REO Properties for Sale
You can find some very reasonably priced homes throughout California by looking into Real Estate Owned or REO properties. CalHFA owns and offers a wide selection of REO properties in various counties throughout the state.
View the CalHFA-owned Properties database to search for available properties in your area.
How to List CalHFA Properties
We appreciate your interest in selling or performing BPOs for CalHFA owned properties. We currently do not have an application through our web site, as we use Master Brokers who assign the properties to listing agents. You may contact one of our Master Brokers if you are interested in applying to become a part of their network of listing agents.
