CalAssist Mortgage Fund Program
In response to recent disasters around the state, Governor Newsom announced on June 5, 2025 that CalHFA will administer the CalAssist Mortgage Fund, a disaster mortgage relief program. CalHFA will use National Mortgage Settlement funds to support eligible homeowners whose homes were destroyed or left uninhabitable by recent disasters.

The state's CalAssist Mortgage Fund delivers urgent financial relief to families devastated by recent California disasters, providing critical breathing room for those whose homes are destroyed or severely damaged to the point they have been deemed uninhabitable – with a total of $105 million available.
