July 11, 2018

SACRAMENTO — The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded its highest form of recognition to the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA).

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded to CalHFA in recognition of its first-ever submission for a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, laying out CalHFA's financial status in rigorous, yet accessible detail.

"I'm very pleased that our attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy was recognized by GFOA," said Don Cavier, Chief Deputy Director of CalHFA. "Transparency and accountability are high priorities for us, and we're always glad to have more ways to show the public our commitment to these priorities."

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstration of a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and groups to read the report.

You can read the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and other CalHFA documents on its website.
