Renaissance at Trinity, a 20 unit rental-housing development located in Fresno, provides permanent supportive housing for qualified chronically homeless persons. Renaissance at Trinity includes 15 units specifically set aside for Section 811 target population adults. The units consist of 1 bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen and living area. Residents at Trinity have use of the on-site Community Building that includes a kitchen and lounge area and also provides for social activities including life skills, a computer room, meeting space for supportive services and private offices for supportive services and property management staff.

Renaissance at Trinity was developed by The City of Fresno Housing Authority. Additional financing includes: Low Income Housing Tax Credits (CTCAC), FHLB SF Affordable Housing Program, HUD Continuum of Care Funds (COC), and Housing Relinquished Fund Corporation, an affiliate of The City of Fresno Housing Authority.

Recipient of the Southern California Association of NonProfit Housing (SCANPH) 2011 Special Needs Housing Development of the Year, the Courtyards in Long Beach is a multiple site project with a total of 46 units in four locations designed to provide permanent supportive housing. The project includes 23 units set aside for Section 811 target population adults. The residents and clients will have access to services provided by MHA Village which is located within two miles of each location.

The project's developer is Clifford Beers Housing, Inc. Additional financing partners include the Long Beach Housing Development Company, Wells Fargo Bank, Affordable Housing Program - First Citizens Bank & Trust and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Dr. Raye Richardson Apartments, when completed, will be a 120-unit residential complex located near City Hall in San Francisco, providing permanent supportive housing for adults. The project includes 12 units set aside for Section 811 target population adults. The building will include ground floor retail space, some of which will be leased to a job training company that will provide employment services to the tenants, open courtyard with views of the Performing Arts Building Mural, second story courtyard areas, a green-roof planting area, vegetable gardens and a roof-top seating area.

The project's developers are Community Housing Partnership and Mercy Housing California. Additional financing partners include the S.F. Mayor's Office of Housing, Citibank, N.A., the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Francisco, the California Department of Housing and Community Development, Silicon Valley Bank and Raymond James.

Fairmount Apartments, a three story mid-rise project in Oakland, will provide affordable, supportive housing to low income families. Five units will be set aside to serve households in which a member qualifies under Section 811's target population. An additional six units will be set aside for people with orthopedic, physical and/or developmental disabilities. The other 20 units in the development will serve individuals and families with incomes ranging from 30% to 50% of Area Median Income, with one unit reserved for a resident manager. Fairmount clients and residents will have use of the community and supportive service space on site. The community room will include kitchen crafts, computer and TV lounge areas.

The project's developer is Affordable Housing Associates. Additional financing partners include Wells Fargo Bank, California Department of Housing and Community Development, the City of Oakland, Federal Home Loan Bank's Affordable Housing Partnership, ESIC Green Grant and Alames County Green Grant.

The project's developer is Townspeople. Additional financing partners include San Diego Housing Commission, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS, California Department of Housing and Community Development, and SHP Capital.

The project's developer is Alliance for the Mentally Ill Housing. The Section 811 program provided 100% of the financing for this Shared Housing Development.

Daniel's Village

Daniel's Village is the rehabilitation of the Village Motel, an eight-unit motel in Santa Monica, which provides seven units of permanent, supportive housing for homeless, transition age youth (ages 18-25) with mental illness. The motel was converted into seven single apartments, featuring private bathrooms and kitchenettes, and one 1-bedroom apartment for the resident manager.

The project's developer is Step Up on Second Street in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Additional funding is provided by the City of Santa Monica and the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission.

The development includes ground floor retail space and about 3,000 square feet of community space that includes a solarium, a residential lobby, on-site parking, a community room, and staff offices. An above ground outdoor deck provides additional community and open space.

Additional financing partners include Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, Citizen's Housing Corporation, San Francisco Department of Public Health, San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing, Federal Home Loan Bank, Enterprise Community Investment and Union Bank of California.

Additional financing partners include Burbank Housing Development Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank, Rohnert Park Community Development Commission, Sonoma County Development Commission, Bank of Marin, Alliant Capital and the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

MHA Garden Street Apartments, a 51-unit complex located in Santa Barbara, provides low-income affordable work-force housing with supportive services for mentally-ill residents. The project includes 10 units set aside for Section 811 target population adults. The building also houses the administrative offices of Mental Health Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, along with office space and parking for City of Santa Barbara employees. The residents and other eligible clients have use of the on-site Fellowship Club that provides social activities, meals, rehabilitation services, with meeting space for additional supportive services. To help subsidize the rent for the very-low income residents, the project has 26 Project Based Section 8 vouchers, and the Section 811 program has provided additional capitalized operating subsidies for the Section 811 units.

Some of the partners on this project include the Mental Health Association in Santa Barbara County, in collaboration with divisions of the City and County of Santa Barbara, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara County Department of Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services, and the California Department of Mental Health.
